Cloud Computing

Let's look at what cloud computing is...

Cloud computing comes into focus only when you think about what IT always needs: a way to increase capacity or add capabilities without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. Cloud computing is an internet-based computer network, where a resource, software and applications are shared to be utilized by other computers connection to it and is also refers as to the delivery of on-demand computational resources through a computer network.

The Cloud encompasses with Infrastructure –as-a-Service (Iaas), Platform-as-a-Service (PassS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) that, in real time over the Internet, extends IT's existing capabilities. As these services are created and offered by the cloud service provider, you need not purchase additional infrastructure for use at your own premises (servers, application programs, operating systems, etc.) or software. Cloud Computing expands on the value of a virtualized infrastructure by providing fully automated or scheduled provisioning processes, security assurances in complex regulatory environments, and flexible business terms. It enables on-demand access to reliable and configurable resources that can be quickly provisioned and released - with minimal consumer involvement in terms of management. You pay only for the resources you use.

Benefits of Cloud Computing:

Save Hardware Cost: Companies save cost on hardware investment because with cloud computing they do not have to purchase addition server, peripherals and other network gear.

Remote Accessibility: Your business will not be restricted to a particular location. You can easily access to the services from anywhere and part of the world as long there is internet access. All you need is your ID, password, laptop or even with your smart phones.

Easy Expansion: As of the characteristics of cloud computing has its flexibility, you can quickly access more resources if you need to expand your business. You need not buy extra infrastructure. You just need to inform your cloud provider about your requirements and they will allocate resources to you. In most cases, the entire process is automated so the expansion takes just a few minutes.

Security: In comparison to traditional business modules, Clouds tend to be more secure. Clouds offer real-time backup which results in less data loss. In case of outage, your customers can use the backup servers that sync with the main ones as soon as they are up. Your business gets maximum uptime without any loss of data during the transitions.
