| Practical Applications of NX |
Practical Applications of NX
as the initial class, is designed to launch students on the
path of productivity. This course is designed to meet the
student's expectation to transfer classroom instruction to
productivity on the job.The Practical Applications of NX course
ignites the student through professional instruction pertaining
to product model design, product model detailing, assembly
modeling and the basics of the master model concept.
At the completion of Practical Applications of NX the student
will productively develop solid models, detail drawings
and product assemblies. The class introduces assembly modeling
in the context of a real-life scenario that includes parts
modeled by the student as well as part models that have
already been created. This reinforces the student's understanding
of the flexibility of the solid modeling and assembly tool
as it can be applied in the real world of product development
collaboration. As with each course developed and taught
by UGS professionals, the Practical Applications of NX class
capitalizes on UGS's intimate knowledge of the software's
development and instructs the students based on the underlying
principles incorporated within the NX software.

| Design Applications of UG NX |
Design Applications using NX is designed to thrust the student
further up the productivity curve. As a second tier course
Design Applications using NX builds on the tools the student
has deployed as a result of attending the Practical Applications
of NX course. This method-based course focuses the student
on productive modeling techniques that capture design intent
in the context of the Master Model. Delivering on that outcome,
Design Applications using NX will incorporate sketching, inter-part
modeling, expression associativity and mating conditions as
a significant part of the instruction. |
| Mill Manufacturing Process |
Mill Manufacturing Process, as the core manufacturing class,
is designed to embark the student on the path of manufacturing
productivity. This course is designed to meet the student's
expectation to transfer classroom instruction to productivity
on the job. This course is a necessity for those interested
in learning the fundamentals of tool path generation with
NX CAM products.
The Mill Manufacturing Process course teaches the use of
the NX manufacturing process for 2- 1/2- 3-axis milling
and drilling applications. The course is taught within the
context of an NC/CNC programming session and emphasizes
the use of manufacturing process methods for improved machining
efficiency.
|
| Advanced Mill Applications |
The Advanced Machining Applications course includes topics
directed at the more experienced and advanced NC/CNC user.
Topics include high speed machining techniques, templates,
libraries and in-depth discussions of hole making functionality.
The course includes advanced topics that are designed to maximize
productivity and efficiency in everyday programming environments.
|
| Mechanical Free Form Modeling |
The Mechanical Free Form Modeling course provides the tools
you need to create and update solid product models based on
Free Form designs. As a second tier course, Mechanical Free
Form Modeling provides value by focusing on reliable modeling
techniques to drive associative, updateable solid models.
The student will develop and practice skills to construct
robust, dependable free form parts that update reliably
and shift smoothly to the manufacturing application. You
will learn methods to incorporate free form features into
any part, from reverse engineered product models to complex
engineering designs
|
| Mold Wizard Design Process |
Mold Wizard Design Process will focus experienced NX users
on compelling solutions that dramatically reduce lead-time
via Mold Wizard automation, increasing their productivity.
Students produce several associative two-part molds from suitably
prepared NX solid models.
The curriculum flows through familiar tasks used in mold
construction. Each new skill is reinforced by ample opportunity
to practice.Additionally, students gain a high level view
of underlying functionality. NX Mold Wizard Design Process
is the impetus needed to thrust mold designers into a successful
competitive position.
|
| Industrial Design with Shape Studio |
NX Industrial Design with Shape Studio provides the student
with the knowledge and skills to define styling shapes using
complex curves and surfaces. Upon completion of this course,
the student will possess the skills required to create high-curvature,
complex surfaces with tangent and/or curvature continuity
and create blends and transition surfaces. The student will
also learn to dynamically edit and analyze surfaces and showcase
products by application of advanced visualization techniques.
|
| Drafting Essentials |
Drafting Essentials is designed to teach students the proper
use of NX drafting tools. Productivity is a key in every aspect
of the NX software implementation. Included in numerous implementation
processes is the requirement to produce high-quality detail
drawings that capture and convey design intent graphically
"on paper". Product model detailing skills further
the goal of overall productivity, as part of the engineering
and product development process. Students who complete the
Drafting Essentials course will be prepared to return to their
product development duties with the additional skills that
speed and automate the detailing process in NX. |
| Advanced Assemblies |
NX Advanced Assemblies, an advanced course, increases productivity
dramatically by teaching the techniques required to reduce
time in opening and manipulating large assemblies. Further
productivity enhancements are realized by using simplified
representations and by opening only designated portions of
the assembly. Make your job more productive and efficient
- if you make or use large assemblies you are encouraged to
attend! |
